Case files provide case history and an overview of the appeals process.  Material filed could include appellate briefs, motions, and rulings from the Michigan Court of Appeals.  These records are organized by case file number.

The State Constitution of 1963 created the Michigan Court of Appeals.  The court is an intermediate appellate court between the state Supreme Court and Michigan trial courts.  It hears both civil and criminal cases.  This includes reviewing decisions made by state's circuit courts, probate courts, Court of Claims, and Detroit Recorder's Court.
